    The Edmonton Branch's annual general meeting was on April 9. We welcomed three new EC officers to the team, but we still have two vacancies to fill: Acting Past President and Program Coordinator. We are looking for volunteers to cover these roles for our 2024-2025 fiscal year.

    The Acting Past President has responsibilities that revolves around the annual AGM and the election of EC officer. They include reviewing and amending the position descriptions as needed, creating the nomination package (cover letter and nomination form), managing the nominations process, creating the AGM proxy form, and managing the elections process in the AGM. It is one of the lighter workloads in the EC.

    The Program Coordinator is responsible for sourcing and securing speakers for the monthly program, working with speakers to obtain the information needed to publicize events, supporting speakers with tech setup at in-person events and thanking speakers. The Program Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining the branch's promotional items inventory and ordering new items as needed and approved by the EC. This role has more work involved, but an organized person will be able to manage it well.
