Has anyone completed the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification program? I am interested in completing this in 2023 and I am wondering if I should register through Red Cape or another company.
    Thanks

Hi! I have taken my MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) Associate and Expert certifications. I proudly display my digital badges with my signature. MOS certification takes time and a lot of study/practice. It was very worthwhile in the end - for personal satisfaction and growth. I don't feel that my certifications are adequately recognized by my workplace but personal satisfaction is immense. Don't let anyone tell you the process is easy. The exams are very challenging and you need to be prepared to answer the questions and complete the tasks on very tight timeframes.

I did not use Red Cape however I think it would have made the process a lot easier if I had. I am happy to answer any questions and would love to assist you in any way.

    Jane
PS: I am also a MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer) and am very pleased that I took the next step to this certification.

Sorry for my delayed response, Jane.  I have been off on vacation.  Thank you so much for sharing your experience.  I may reach out again as I continue to explore this and come up with some more questions.

One of my goals is to complete MOS. In the interim, to best suit my busy work schedule and learning style, I registered with the Red Cape Academy for the monthly live classes, every second Tuesday - once a month. The classes are 1.5 hours and I find I can easily block that time. The bonus is having a month to apply what you have learned in the classes and each class builds upon the next. Also - technology is changing so fast that it is good to identify exactly what you want to develop in the immediate future. For me it was learning more about Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive and collaboration in this new hybrid environment. My path will just be longer, but I fully trust that I'm gaining the building blocks for MOS certification even though it is not a conventional path. This route was also more affordable considering my not for profit employer is supporting this PD.
