  • 1.  What skills do you use most?

    Hi everyone! 

    It's important to keep the courses that are part of our certification programs current and relevant. Over the years,  project management, soical media, and website design/maintenance skills became more relevant to many admin roles so we added them as electives. We are currently looking at adding an elective in change management and another in board governance as they are both a huge part of our roles. I'm sure there are other skills that you use in your role that we might be able to incorporate as course options. I'd love to hear about them so let me know.

    Project Management has to be a skill I use a lot; however, change management certainly would be something on my radar.

    Hello Everyone,

    Change management would be at the top of the list. Interestingly, I meet people everyday (myself included) who are struggling with how to use technology or who don't a feature exists which would make their life easier. Who can't see their manager's calendar on their phone, who don't know their computer can read back an email to them before they hit send or there is an App to assist with finding a meeting time for a group of people etc. More technology courses are a must if we want to be relevant and more efficient.

    Hi Gale,

    Microsoft skills - all apps.  I'm always learning new apps to make my worklife easier. 

    Board governance would be great.

    Event planning - if you can find somewhere that offers this online.

    Hello,

    Website, Intranet or digital workspace maintenance is beneficial knowledge to possess; event planning; knowledge of Office 365 - Planner, OneNote, awareness of all the apps available and project management would be my suggestions.
